Fort Laramie, Wyoming
Someone in the Carroll or Jeffers family took this picture of the Cavalry Enlisted Men's Quarters in Fort Laramie, Wyoming. It was taken some time in the 1930's to 1950's. At that time the Fort had fallen into disrepair, as you can see by the missing rail on the second floor balcony.
Kim and I stopped at Fort Larmie on August 6, 2023. I took this picture from almost the exact spot as the black and white shot above. I'd never seen the black and white photograph until a year after Kim and I visited the Fort. I found it in an envelope of negatives. I just thought it was kind of cool.
